RE: Little help

Hey I think that's it. It certainly looks like it is welded the same way. I really appreciate it.

Little help

I have seen a post on here somewhere that has a really good picture from underneath of how someone strengthened their rear bumper. I want to print it out to show my welder guy. I have searched and can't find the picture anywhere. Anybody know where I can find it?

RE: Condensation while running a/c

Thanks for the advice guys. I will climb up on top and check it out. It was dripping pretty good on the outside of the camper and the moisture on the vent cover was a lot like your windows at home in the winter when they sweat because the heat is on.
If I take my pressure washer hose up there will it blow water into the camper? That would be a disaster in the making.

Condensation while running a/c

Hey guys, we went camping this past weekend and I have a question to see if I have a potential problem. We ran the a/c for the first time since we have had the TT. (we got it in October last year) The a/c worked fine, however we had what I thought was a lot of condensation on the vent in the ceiling. Now I only noticed it on the biggest one that also has the filter in the main part of the TT. I mean it would start dripping on the floor after a while. Now we live in MS and it is humid as it can be, but is this normal or do I have a problem?

RE: Sirius satellite radio

Easy guys, I thought the same thing, but it looks like I was wrong. (though Sirius does say the same thing). Dang, if I have left my radio in the truck for 3 years because I didn't think I could get a signal here in the store I work in,,,,,I'm gonna be ticked off, lol. (But happy at the same time) My poor pharmacy technician is about to have to listen to Jimmy Buffett all day!

Sirius satellite radio

I already have Sirius in the TV and my wife's car. I have a home base and want to add one in the camper. My question is about entry points for the antenna. Does anyone here have Sirius in their camper and how did they run the antenna wire? I have no leaks, and don't want to make one by doing this.

RE: Base for satellite dish

Gonna try the 4 legged pvc base, but fill it with concrete. May alter the design a little and have a higher upright post to mount to. I have some 1" pvc pipe in the barn and some glue left over from building the potato gun, lol.

RE: Base for satellite dish

wow those are some good ideas. I guess for some reason I thought the dish should be higher or something. Those low to the ground would be less bothered by the wind.

Base for satellite dish

I have seen somewhere in these forums a homemade base for a satellite dish instead of a tripod. It seems like it was made with a concrete base. Does anybody remember seeing this or have a link? It would seem more stable than a standard tripod.

RE: Ideas for organizing storage in TT

Wow under the bed is a lot of storage room. We put the folding chairs, the Directv satellite dish, the pop up dog house and something else I can't remember. I put one of those round pop in lights in there so that I can see what I am looking for.
We have a pass through storage compartment under that for all of the outside things. I have two of those black rubbermaid storage containers (Roughneck I think?)that I put that stuff in. I am gonna put some hooks in there to hang the poles on. The Dutchmen folks thought to put a light in there, but only one side for some reason.

RE: Need some advice

Thanks, Dhelm72 and others. I printed out the template and went to the camper and it will fit between the 2 largest "ridges" on the siding. You also answered my question of making sure water won't seep into the walls.
Is there a standard width of wall studs in a TT? I have a studfinder but I am not gonna lie, I am nervous about drilling into the side of my TT. It's one of those things you do without telling the wife first I think. I have a window edge to start with because there has to be a stud there.

RE: Need some advice

Won't work for us, our LCD doesn't have a base on it. Also, we want it a little higher than table top height.

Need some advice

I want to have a mount for my tv on the outside of the TT, but am having trouble finding a mount. I don't have the smooth sides, so according to Thule, I can't use their product. (they say they are working on one) While I admit I am scared to death to drill a hole in the side of my camper, has anyone else done anything like this?

RE: Who went camping this weekend

Yep we went out too. I am the one that had the "near death" experience due to the bad storms that went through MS on Friday. After that though had a really nice time.
This may not be the right forum, but has anyone ever had a problem with folks walking through their site? We were parked on the end of a cul-de-sac and the lake was below our camper down a hill. All weekend we had people walking through to the lake and a couple of times almost under our awning! There was also a problem with their kids riding bikes between my in-laws and our camper. How do you folks handle this? I don't want to be a jerk, but it is hard to relax in this type of setting.

RE: Went camping this weekend, couple of questions

I am pretty sure the chocks were tight, but obviously not enough. I think the next time I may just ride it out inside the truck! The campground had 3 pretty large trees blown over and the closest town (about 5 miles away) looked like a bomb went off with all of the oaks down there. I was smart enough to not mess with the awning until after the storm.
Oh and as far as the power, the whole campground lost power before the storm hit.

Went camping this weekend, couple of questions

We went out this weekend and it sure had some interesting moments! Everything started out well, I arrived early to set up and my wife would arrive after school was out (she's a teacher). After setting up, I was trying to figure out why the a/c wouldn't come on. I assumed I had power because the lights were on, but no a/c at all. I checked fuses and then looked across the lake to see purple, not black, clouds coming. I don't know if anyone here has ever been in a camper with straight line winds around 60-70 mph, but ,,,,,,,,wow. I will tell you, I hit a knee quick and prayed to make it out alive. When it was over, it had blown the wheel chocks out from under the tires and the sewer hose support was blown away, and 2 of the plumbing vent covers as well. Has anyone ever been in that situation before? Yikes. Now I know the a/c problem was the power was out, but lights burning from battery fooled me. We finally got power back to the site the next morning. Which leads me to another question about generators. What is the preferred brand most folks like? Thanks for help.

RE: Finished installing LCD TV mounts in TT

It says 20 lbs on the package, but the tv is no where near that and it doesn't sag at all. When we are traveling I take the tv and lay it down on the bed so it won't move.
